July 27, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDT

The InfraGard National Members Alliance, its National Sector Security and Resiliency Program (NSSRP), the Charlotte InfraGard Members Alliance (IMA) in collaboration with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), are proud to present a two-day virtual training event taking place on July 27th and July 29th, from 12:00pm – 2:30pm  ET / 9:00am – 11:30am PT.

InfraGard National Members Alliance two-day 25th Anniversary Healthcare and Life Science Critical Infrastructure Protection Symposium

Healthcare and Life Sciences are essential to navigating hazards like terrorism, infectious disease outbreaks, and natural disasters. It is also essential to our day-to-day quality of life and our safety. It is under attack from Nation States looking to steal our intellectual property (IP), our research, and our DNA. These attacks put our safety at risk, threatening our economy, and our place on the global stage. In parallel, innovations in technology are providing mind boggling advances not even imagined a few years ago. The challenge is to unlock the value of these advances and discovery without compromising our leadership in patient safety and affordable innovation.

Part 1 Tuesday July 27, 2021. 12 to 2:30 PM ET
“Protecting the fuel driving innovation in Life Sciences – data, IP, DNA”

Data is the oil fueling innovation and operating our systems. We know our adversaries – Nation States, Terrorists, Hackers – are after our data to undermine our economy, our national defense, and our position on the world stage. The bad guys regularly seek raw data, patient information, Intellectual Property (IP), even our DNA. Come hear industry thought leaders and national law enforcement talk about the seriousness of this threat and what public/ private efforts are doing. Ransomware pales in comparison.

Learning Outcomes/Objectives

1. Understand the long term threat to our industry and national economy from the theft of data by Nation States
2. Know the forms of data our adversaries are stealing on a regular basis – including our DNA
3. Appreciate the long term damage from the theft of our hard earned IP and research

“Managing technological change in Healthcare while mitigating Cyber Risks”

Adoption of Telemedicine and Digital Health shot through the roof during the pandemic. So have Internet of Medical Things (IOMT) (body worn medical devices, etc.) and shadow IT, increasing with the advent of 5G. With that astronomic growth came an even larger increase in attacks compromising patient safety, data exfiltration, and denial of service. Industry thought leaders will talk about the real-world implication of this very serious threat and the various effort combating the threat. The expert panel will touch upon everything from pacemakers to manufacturing processes.

Learning Outcomes/Objectives
1. Understand the implications to patient safety from digital health breaches
2. Understand the concepts and value of Telemedicine and Digital Health
3. Review the cybersecurity risks of telemedicine and the Internet of Medical Things (IOMT)
