IMA Webinar Broadcast: Online Threat Detection 101 (And a L.A. Case Study)

October 17, 2023 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am PDT

The updated and revised Infrastructure Liaison Officer (ILO) course is a fast-paced four-hour learning experience that results in a certification. It examines violent extremism and terrorism, critical infrastructure protection (such as the National Infrastructure Protection Program), other man-made and natural hazards, and the threats posed by nefarious nation-states (e.g., espionage, war, etc.).

The world has become a very dangerous place, in every region of our planet major threats and hazards abound. The ability of the private sector to effectively interface with public agencies at all levels in mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery (all based on a solid assessment and “intelligence-led decision-making”) has never been more important.

In the immediate years after 9-11, the national focus was on terrorism, then Hurricane Katrina and the Indian Ocean Tsunami reminded us that other threats and hazards can also disrupt our continuity of operations and supply chains. More recently, the pandemic and War in Ukraine have reinforced the challenges we face, and the critical importance to be informed and prepared, and to become resilient and ready for whatever may strike us next.

You will be required to take and pass a short test during the class in order to achieve your ILO certification.

Hal Kempfer is by all accounts the most prolific and accomplished instructor nationwide in ILO and TLO course training (who also provides this kind of training on behalf of the US government to our allies overseas), and will guide us through this half-day quest to become certified as the right person at the right time with the right information.
