On 7/9/2020, the US Supreme Court ruled in McGirt v. Oklahoma that Congress did not properly and lawfully disestablish the Muscogee Creek Nation (MCN) when establishing the state of Oklahoma in 1907. As a result, the historical boundaries of the MCN were reaffirmed. This presentation will provide an overview of the resulting impact to the criminal justice system in Oklahoma.
