SUMMARY:IMA Webinar Broadcast: InfraGard Maine Presents - The Threat Actor Behind SOLARWINDS SUNBURST Supply Chain Attack
DESCRIPTION:Our Guests from Mandiant address: “Defending Against\, Investigating\, and Responding to UNC2452 Intrusions – The Threat Actor Behind SOLARWINDS SUNBURST Supply Chain Attack \nUNC2452\, the threat actor behind the SolarWinds SUNBURST supply chain attack\, is one of the most advanced\, disciplined\, and elusive threat actors Mandiant has ever investigated. UNC2452’s operators have a mastery of both offensive and defensive skills – and have used that knowledge to refine their intrusion techniques to hide in plain sight. They’ve compromised dozens of organizations in the government\, NGO\, technology\, security\, telecommunications\, and education sectors. They leverage several attack vectors to obtain access to victim environments and use creative and clandestine techniques to maintain persistent access. We will discuss their tradecraft observed in several victim environments and discuss ways organizations can better defend their networks from this threat actor and the other actors that will emulate UNC2452 in the future. \n  \nObjectives: \nUnderstanding the SolarWinds attack\nThe source and their actions\nAdvanced attack vectors\nSupply chain risks\nPreparing to defend against threat actors that emulate this type of attack. \n  \nPresenters:  \nJosh Madeley\, Mandiant\, Manager\, Professional Services \nJosh Madeley is a Manager at Mandiant with over thirteen years of experience in information security. SUMMARY:IMA Webinar Broadcast: Supply Chain Compromise: How Threat Actors Leverage Trusted Relationships to Achieve Initial Access
DESCRIPTION:The threat of supply chain compromise represents a particularly nefarious issue for defenders\, as it involves the compromise of a trusted third party through which the threat actor then subsequently compromises additional victims. To complicate things even more\, the subsequent victims of these supply chain attacks are often unaware that they have been attacked in the first place due to the trusted nature of the relationship between the 3rd party victim and the supplier. \nAccordingly\, this brief will discuss CrowdStrike’s most current understanding of recent supply chain threats\, to include the threat actors that perpetrate them\, associated infrastructure and capabilities\, as well as observed TTPs that are leveraged in the course of these advanced attacks\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. \n  \nObjectives:  \nThis brief will discuss CrowdStrike’s most current understanding of recent supply chain threats\, to include the threat actors that perpetrate them\, associated infrastructure and capabilities\, as well as observed TTPs that are leveraged in the course of these advanced attacks. \n  \nPresenters: \nAdam Meyers\, SVP\, Intelligence at CrowdStrike \nAdam Meyers leads the Threat Intelligence line of business for CrowdStrike. SUMMARY:IMA Webinar Broadcast: Cyber Conversations with InfraGardNCR: CMMC
DESCRIPTION:CMMC certification is here to stay. If your organization is one of the 100s of 1000s of companies that support the DoD today\, you must attend our webinar with subject matter experts Alex Sharpe\, William Baugh\, and Robert Ashcraft. We will discuss the five certification levels\, what you need to do\, how it relates to other requirements\, and provide you with immediate actions you can take to move forward toward compliance. \nThis session will be moderated by one of InfraGardNCR’s IT sector chiefs\, Patty Arcano. \nPresenters: \n  \nRobert Ashcraft\, CEO/President\, CMMC Solutions \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/bobashcraft/ \n  \nWilliam Baugh\, Principal/CISO\, CMMC Solutions \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/williambaugh/ \n  \nAlex Sharpe\, Principal\, Sharpe Management Consulting \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/alex-sharpe-3rd/ \n  \nWho Can Attend:  \nOpen only to InfraGard members and their guests. Particularly aimed toward any professional\, specifically in IT\, who may pursue DoD contract awards and need to meet the CMMC requirements. DoD has emphasized that the CMMC is a starting point for transforming contractors’ internal cybersecurity culture and that industry must focus on preparing for evolving threats\, not simply achieving CMMC certification. \n  \nRegistration: \nhttps://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1814782837957300235 \n

SUMMARY:IMA Webinar Broadcast: Sanitization and Disposal of Media and Excess Information Technology Equipment
DESCRIPTION:We will provide instructions to organizations on how to effectively sanitize hard drives and other electronic media. The NIST SP 800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitization were originally meant for government use\, but are now commonly implemented by many private companies and organizations. By following the guidelines\, organizations can feel confident they have taken the necessary steps to minimize the chances of their data being recovered by third parties. Media sanitization is the process of removing data stored on an electronic media device in a way that ensures it cannot be easily retrieved by third parties. After correctly sanitizing a device\, the data that has been removed should be unrecoverable even with the assistance of advanced forensic tools. In addition to removing the files and folders from your electronic media device\, the sanitization process will securely remove all Data Remanence. \nObjectives: \nUpon completion of this webinar\, the attendee/student will be able to understand how to execute the three phases of of Media and IT Sanitization: Phase 1) Accountability and Logistics; Phase 2) De-manufacture and Risk Reduction; and Phase 3) Destruction and Disposal \n  \nPresenter: \nJaime-Maria Nelson\, Corporate Security Manager & P2 SHRED Program Manager; System High Corporation \nA retired Army SIGINT Professional who has been an Industrial Security Professional since 2009. She is a Special Access Program SME and has spent over 20 years working/supporting the SCI environments within DoD. \n  \nWho should attend: \nOpen to anyone. Particularly aimed toward all personnel who want to learn about the NIST requirement and the processes required to property dispose of Media and IT Equipment. \nRegistration: \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/march-2021-huntsville-infragard-member-alliance-meeting-tickets-114548842672

SUMMARY:IMA Webinar Broadcast: Safeguarding the Bioeconomy
DESCRIPTION:Biological threats have historically focused on addressing emerging infectious diseases or the possibility of engineering a virus that could start the zombie apocalypse. Today\, as biology continues to converge with the cyber realm\, new security challenges will arise. In the area of healthcare\, there is a general failure to recognize biological data as a potential economic driver and therefore a national security concern. Supervisory Special Agent Edward You will highlight the need to radically redefine what we consider a biological threat. \n  \nObjectives: \nParticipants will learn that we must move past the traditional definition of biological threats and focus on the potential for biological data to become an economic driver\, and therefore a national security concern. \n  \nPresenters: \nEdward You\, FBI SSA \nEdward You is a Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate\, currently detailed as a Liaison Officer at the Department of Health and Human Services\, Office of National Security. \n  \nWho can attend: \nOpen only to vetted InfraGard members.
