Collectors include: human intelligence (HUMINT); counterintelligence (CI); technical intelligence (TECHINT); open source intelligence (OSINT); signals intelligence (SIGINT); geospatial intelligence (GEOINT); and measurement and signatures intelligence (MASINT) disciplines. Each discipline is defined; component and key features identified; and historical aspects highlighted. The discussion is presented in non-technical language to provide an understanding of the disciplines and how they support the IC and government customers.
