SUMMARY:IMA Broadcast Webinar: Elder Justice - Who are the criminals behind the scams? How do they do it?
DESCRIPTION:Calling all older adults and people who care about them: please join us for the second in a three-part series on Elder Justice! \nThis series aims to show you what fraud against older adults looks like\, why criminals are targeting older adults\, and how we can work together to keep older adults safe. As May 15 is National Senior Fraud Awareness Day\, our Elder Justice events in May will focus on financial frauds that impact older adults. \nIn this second session\, you’ll hear from government experts about the most recent trends in scams targeting older adults. You’ll also learn more about the criminals who are using these frauds to steal money. \nWayne Jacobs\, special agent in charge of the Criminal Division at the FBI’s Washington\, DC field office will moderate the conversation. Other speakers include: \n– Rachel Yurkovich\, management and program analyst at the FBI’s Internet Crimes Complaint Center\n– Emma Fletcher\, senior data researcher at the Federal Trade Commission\n– Matt Reynolds\, supervisory special agent in the Economic Crimes Unit at FBIHQ and the FBI’s national program manager for Elder Justice \nThe webinar is open to everyone who’d like to attend.
